Portlandia on Film

VooDoo Donuts, Stumptown Coffee & fudge before our brunch

We got into all the staple Portlandia things.

We waited in line at Voodoo Donuts, we enjoyed coffee from Stumptown Coffee Roasters, we walked down the Naito Parkway alongside the Willamette River, we hiked through the entire city block of Powell’s Books (aka Powell’s City of Books), we went to the Nike employee store… So many things! The city is eclectic, organic, perfectly bite-sized & weird. I learned that it’s ok to eat fudge before you brunch. Portland is also pet-friendly everywhere & it’s not uncommon to witness dogs riding skateboards while holding heir owns leashes. Hiking with your sweatshirt tied around your waist is encouraged & especially if you have a film camera in hand (check!). In Portlandia, it’s also written in the hipster bylaws somewhere to be sassy if you’re a bartender or barista. Them humans are easier to break though then they may lead on -try striking up a convo about the small batch whiskey they shelf or the oat milk they keep in the back for special customers. Engage them in their own quirkiness, they’ll show their weird, goofy Portland colors quickly enough.
